In 2009, I packed up my life in Sydney and chased after a burning dream to live in Paris. I spent three years in the City of Lights, and as Charles Dickens said, "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times". Having run out of visa options to stay, I returned home, but Paris had seared an indelible mark on my heart that continued to ache.
Ten years later, still trying to adjust back into Sydney life after years of pining for Paris, I am shockingly uprooted when my Father is diagnosed with a rare, aggressive and terminal form of cancer. Immediately becoming his full time carer, I find myself living on a small farm in Paradise, Tasmania. There is barely a place on earth further from La Tour Eiffel and yet I find that exquisite feeling of belonging that Paris once offered work its way into my soul once again.
So how does a girl who uncovered her self and her spirit buried deep in the cobblestones of Parisian streets find a similar sense of contentment and purpose living in Tasmania's rural north west?
Well, let's find out.
